JCP is the leading edge consultancy for co-operative and collaborative working.
The words partnering and alliancing have now become increasingly common, but it wasn't always the case. When we began our work there were no guidance manuals, instruction books or other companies building the collaborative competencies to initiate and sustain true relationships. Way back in the early 90's, JCP was designing and running programmes to change the organisational culture towards one of empowerment, results driven and profitable cooperation. JCP blazed the trail of cooperative working through the oil and construction industries and beyond, so that others could follow. We give our clients the full benefit of this unparallelled experience.
Our total focus is on developing collaboration within and between teams and organisations. Nothing we do for our clients is ‘off the peg’, all our services are specifically tailored to our clients needs in order to enable them to get the absolute most from the work we do with them.
The Collaboration Round Table
The Collaboration Round Table - a like minded group of clients and contractors from a wide range of sectors with a common interest in becoming more effective through collaboration - recently released a digest of its first year's activities. The Digest considers subjects such as what are the benefits and costs of collaboration and how does one create an intelligent client and contractor? It is essential reading for anyone interested in collaboration.
Examples of our work and clients includes:
Alliancing
The National Grid M1 Alliance is tasked with providing gas pipeline renewals to a number of large towns, including Sheffield, Nottingham, Derby, Leicester. Formed between National Grid and Amec, we helped the Alliance to work through a major culture change and to become, within one year the top performing Gas Alliance in the country.
Partnering
The Hong Kong Mass Transit Rail Co. Alliance, for whom we provided partnering facilitation and consultancy services, saved $13,500M Hong Kong. The big players come to us because they know that we can help them deliver, because our track record in our field proves it. When Network Rail wanted to try the first and only partnership with a train operating company, they chose us. When they wanted to introduce Siemens as a new strategic supplier for signalling into the UK, they chose us.
Negotiation
The Fuel Partnership that we helped develop between Nuclear Electric, Scottish Nuclear and British Nuclear Fuels, saved £1 billion in the first year and took a further £1.8 billion out over the next year. Their previous contract had taken 7 years to negotiate; with our facilitation the new one took 7 months. The contract had a duration of some 85 years and a value that ran into billions of pounds.
Working alongside you, JCP will:

Beyond collaborative software extranets and supply chain systems
Within a project extranet or a supply chain environment, systems are only as good as the people and the strength of their relationships with one another.
